Here’s a further look into CLAE’s current 2010 spring/summer collection. We see some seasonally relevant materials applied to the upper with lightweight chambray materials as well as brighter colors. Our favorites include the mint-colored Zissou, the berry Kennedy, the two variations on a mixed-material Ellington. Look for the collection at various CLAE dealers worldwide.

A look into the offices of Bond / Weekend / SLVDR (Working Holiday)

This one might be a little complicated for anyone reading early in the am. SLVDR (salvador) and BOND share the same offices, are two distinctly different companies but are run by the same dudes…

SLVDR push a simple, clean look that showcases a more refined look - no crazy pop colours here either. BOND makes snow outerwear and everything is completely eco friendly - right down to the cardboard boxes and bags they get shipped in and is carbon neutral.

Located in the quaint little town/village? of Laguna Beach (a couple of doors up from Thalia Surf) and just back from the beach, these guys have taken an old house and remodd’ed it to suit their needs for an office. Given that it was an old house, the toilet was pretty much the most ‘homely’ one we have checked out - comfort levels were high..

Plenty of little gadgets, pieces, toys, books, etc gave the office plenty of character and the great view out the back and friendly vibe inside made the visit pretty dam fun.

It may look like simple menswear from a distance but look up close and it is well structured, well designed, and well inspired. Well desired is COMUNE; clothing that is not only top quality but at the same time cost conscious [ie: the perfect equation]. Strong on aesthetics as well as the sweet little details that one can’t help but notice, this is a label that doesn’t flaunt its name obnoxiously all over its pieces but instead tastefully and discreetly. A guy that wears COMUNE is a bad boy that knows how to dress; less rips and rags, more tailoring and class. Designers always speak of flattering a woman’s body, well, COMUNE manipulates denim and knits in ways that flatter a man’s body. Yes they sponsor both skateboarders and snowboarders and yes their clothing can be worn doing both, but their clothing line is in no way defined by either sport. The near future doesn’t see COMUNE creating a womens line unfortunately, but just as Dior Homme personally tailors any piece for any female that asks, so will COMUNE.

CS: What do you think of all the new COMUNE gear?

BOND is pleased to announce the addition of Eddie Wall to their team. They have known Eddie for a long time and not only is he a great rider, but a great person as well. With one of the strongest work ethics in the business, Eddie is the definition of a professional snowboarder.

“Our whole philosophy with our brands is to work with people, whether they are reps, riders, or our accounts, that get what we are doing and have the same passion for it that we do,” stated Dan McNamara, co-Founder of Bond Outerwear. “Eddie is a great fit for us because he is one of us, and having him as part of the family means the world to Christian and I.”

“I’m so excited to start a new beginning with some great friends!” adds Eddie, “I can’t wait to grow with this quality company right from the beginning, it is really a great time right now.”

Eddie joins Heikki Sorsa and TJ Schneider on Bond’s pro team.
